Tell Me A Story | September 2016

September Harvest

The dog days of summer draw to an end and a new season is here.  Autumn is upon us and the harvest begins.  The countryside is a sudden burst of energy and activity as farmers begin the work of the season.  September shows us such beauty that lasts but a short time.  A pallet of gorgeous autumn colors…yellows,  golds and oranges dominate the landscape as far as the eye can see.   And the Harvest Moon makes a glorious appearance this harvest season.

Cities in Color | September 2016

I have recently started a photography project entitled, Cities in Color Project.  The purpose of the project is to get out into the city/town we live in or visit and LOOK for color. I would like to share the photographs I previously blogged  for the Share Six September Black and White theme, in their color versions for this month’s Cities in Color post.

The closest town to my home is noted for the preservation of their heritage buildings. The main street architecture is reminiscent of days gone by. In following with the heritage preservation of the buildings, wonderful murals have been painted on the backs and sides of the buildings depicting scenes from the era in which the buildings were constructed. Once dreary back alley spaces have been transformed into amazing works of street art.

The Rose

“Feeling at peace, however fragilely, made it easy to slip into the visionary end of the dark-sight. The rose shadows said that they loved the sun, but that they also loved the dark, where their roots grew through the lightless mystery of the earth. The roses said: You do not have to choose. ” ― Robin McKinley, Sunshine
